Eva Irene Dickson, 91, of Twin Falls ID, passed away November 24, 2018 at the Genesis Care Center, Twin Falls, ID. Eva was born January 28, 1927 in Cope, CO to Patrick H. Brown and Thelma M. (Warner) Brown. Eva’s mother passed away in childbirth when she was 2 yrs old. Eva’s father left her and her older sister, Anna, to live with his sister Florence & Ray Anderson, in Cope CO, until he married Pearl Berna, in 1934. Patrick & Pearl had two children, Nova Lee & Eugene. They moved back & forth from Cope, CO and Ft Smith, AR as her father found jobs.
Eva met George T. (Buck) O’Neal while visiting her Aunt Florence for the summer in Cope, CO. Eva tells the story that she went back to AR and Buck sent her a ring (and a bus ticket back to KS) in the mail and said, “now you’re engaged”. They were married in Cimmaron, KS on Dec 24, 1943 and lived in Cope, CO. They had 3 daughters; Carol J., Laura C., & Charyla M. 1 son; George P. (Rick), Carol died when she was 5 years old.
Eva’s second marriage was to Lawrence L. Dickson and they had two sons, Patrick L. & Curtis L.
Eva was an excellent cook and enjoyed using her skills in her job at Rawlins Hospital, Rawlins WY. for many years before moving to Salt Lake City, UT.
Eva was living with her daughter, Charyla, in Twin Falls before her passing.
Eva accepted Jesus as her Savior and was baptized at a young age. When she was no longer able to get out to go to church, she never wanted to miss watching David Jeremiah on TV.
Eva loved animals and could be found with a dog or cat sitting on her lap as she sipped her day long cup of coffee.
Eva was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol; her husband, Lawrence (Larry); parents and step mother; her brother, Eugene; sisters, Laura Marie & Anna; half sister, Nova Lee.
Eva is survived by her Daughters; Laura (Cliff) Hilbert of Gering, NE, Charyla Grasmick of Twin Falls, ID. Sons; George P. (Jan) O’Neal of Fitchburg, MA, Patrick (Michele) Dickson, of Shoshone, ID, and Curtis (Jeannie) Dickson of West Jordon, UT. Step son; Bill (Sharon) Dickson of Garretson, SD.; Eva will be missed by many grandchildren, step grandchildren, great grandchildren, & great great grandchildren. Also surviving are her beloved cousins, Edith (Warner) Gorman, from Freeport, IL., and Lawrence Brown from Arvada, CO., and her dog Macey.
