Kerry Ann Huffaker, 61 of Twin Falls passed away June 25th after a long courageous battle with brain cancer. Kerry was born in Santa Paula, California on April 19th, 1957 to Clarence William and Rossalynn Sullivan. She graduated from Santa Paula High School, the same high school that her father had graduated from. She later attended Ricks College and Brigham Young University where she earned a Bachelors in Child Development. In September of 1994, Kerry started writing to her future husband Warren Huffaker and they fell in love through their letters. In April of 1995 they met face to face for the first time. 76 days later she sold everything she owned and moved to Italy where they were married on July 6th 1995 where Warren was stationed in the United States Navy. Kerry loved to clean and organize things and had a special talent for taking trash and turning it into treasure, she didn’t like expensive or fancy things, and she was a very plain and simple person but made everything she touched beautiful. Kerry worked as a Playground teacher at Sawtooth Elementary School for 9 years and then transferred to Canyon Ridge High School where she worked in the lunchroom. She took 2 years off and then returned to Sawtooth because she missed the younger kids. Kerry was known for her whistle that could be heard across the playground. It was known to stop kids in their tracks and keep them from doing what they were doing. Kerry was predeceased by her parents and her brother’s Tim Sullivan and Everett Sullivan. Kerry is survived by her sisters Kathleen (Randy) Jones of Salem, Utah; Shannon Sullivan of West Valley, Utah. By her husband Warren Huffaker and sons; Chris of Costa Rica, Brendan and Malcolm (Erika) of Melbourne Florida and Dylan Huffaker of Twin Falls as well as 5 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews with whom she was known as the favorite aunt. A memorial service will be held at the LDS Chapel on 501 Main Street in Buhl on Saturday June 30th at 11:00 A.M. under the direction of Bishop Tyler McKee. Friends may call on Friday, June 29, 2018 from 5 – 7 P.M. at Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd. in Twin Falls and an hour prior to the service at the church. The family would like to thank the community of Twin Falls for the overwhelming show of love for the family, the MSTI at St. Luke’s Twin Falls and the doctors and nurses at the Huntsman Cancer Institute for their care and compassion over the last 2 and a half years.
