Joyce Ruggles

Joyce Mildred Ruggles, a long-time resident of Filer, Idaho, died on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at the Harmony Place Residential Assisted Living, Twin Falls, Idaho, from natural causes. 

Joyce was 86, born July 29, 1931, in Glen White, Pennsylvania, the daughter of John and Anna Myers. Joyce received her education in Ravenna, Ohio. During her career, she worked at Twin Falls Hospital and Jerome Hospital, in medical insurance and billing, until her retirement. 

Joyce will forever be remembered by her husband Arnold F. Ruggles, who she married in 1949, at the Methodist Church in Edinburg, Ohio. They lived in Hawaii for a few years and Yamhill, Oregon, and they settled in Filer, Idaho, in 1975. Married for 69 blissful years, Joyce and Arnold raised their six amazing children who she loved wholeheartedly: Gail (Chris Elliott), Rick (Litay), LaFawn (deceased), Randy (Anna), Chris (Nora) and Ron (Gwen). She also is survived by one brother and 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She treasured her special moments with her children and grandchildren whom she loved immensely. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters and daughter LaFawn. 

Joyce was more precious than words can describe, she was the heart of her family.
She was an adorable, caring, devoted, loving wife and beloved mother and grandmother. She had a passion for life and a heart of gold and such a contagious smile. She loved socializing with family and friends, and she enjoyed being a homemaker, reading, writing poetry, listening to music and collecting antiques. She loved gardening and her entries won ribbons at multiple county fairs. In earlier years, she and Arnold shared a love of travel. They also loved to dance and joined bowling leagues, and they truly worshiped their time together. 

Please join us as we celebrate her life Friday, May 18, 2018, at 2:00 p.m., at Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, Idaho. Burial will follow the service at Twin Falls Cemetery. Her family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her over the last several months.
