Patricia Commons

Patricia Commons, age 85, a long-time resident of Kimberly, Idaho, passed away peacefully in her home with her family by her side on May 2, 2018.

Mom was born April 17, 1933, in Eden, Idaho to Willet and Reathel Whittekiend, the fifth child of eleven. Mom attended school in Shoshone, Idaho and graduated from Cusick High School in Cusick, Washington.

Mom married our dad, Russell Gene Gallaugher Feb 2, 1952, in Spokane, Washington where they lived for 3 years before moving to La Crescenta, California. In 1972 we moved back to Idaho to be close to mom's dad. Mom and dad owned Gene and Pat's Laundry Mat and Dry Cleaners for 26 years. Mom always had a smile and open ear for all that came to the laundry mat. She was active in Soroptimist International for many years, making many friends along the way.

After our dad died, mom met and married Richard Commons. Mom and Dick had many good years together. They shared a love of traveling. They had many great camping trips with friends and toured Europe for a month. Mom was lucky to find true love and companionship twice in her life. Mom has a wonderful circle of friends whom she loves to play bingo and cards with.

Mom was preceded by our dad, Gene Gallaugher, her second husband Dick Commons, her parents, brother's Larry, Forrest, Wayne and sisters Lucille Conrad and Louise McKenzie. She is survived by 2 daughters, Kathie Gallaugher (Mark Feldhusen) of Kimberly and Karri Gallaugher of Astoria, Oregon, 3 grandchildren Kristen (Steve), Skyler (Whitney), Whitney (Dan), and the 6 littles she is most proud of and has given her the greatest joy Slade, Kadrea, Baylor, Tony, Kazlea and Elle Jo, her great-grandchildren. Last but not least, Mom's brothers Jim, Ken, Allan, Jay, and Rob Whittekiend, and many nieces and nephews.
