Mabel Ione Bailey passed away peacefully at home December 11, 2017 in Riverton, Utah. Sweetheart of Del Bailey; mother of Loyd (Laura), Christine (Bruce), & Shurlyn: grandmother of Janelle, Melissa, Lance, Lindsay, Cherissa, Dallin, Bryce, Terrell, Marshal, Cortland, Tanner, Kyle, & Kandalee; great grandmother of Shaylee, Makayla, Kaiden, Madison, Mersadie, Brooklyn, Mckenzie, Abigail, Witten, Gavin, Porter, Jandylin, Adlee & Karlee. Born April 25, 1934 in Heyburn, Idaho, the daughter of Clarence Ross Brower and Edna Irene Lee. Ione grew up in Heyburn, Idaho and graduated from Heyburn High School in 1952. She married her high school sweetheart, Delano C. Bailey on May 2, 1952. They were sealed together in the Logan Utah Temple on September 23, 1955. Ione served in the Primary and Young Women organizations of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She created many arts and crafts throughout her life including oil and tole painting, ceramics, porcelain dolls, sewing, quilting, and scrapbooking. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; sister, Glenna Boss; brothers, Gaylon Kidd and Darrell Tilley; aunt, Elsie Grow; uncle, Arlo Lee; sister-in-law, Ruby Simonis; brother-in-law, Derrel Warner; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Del and sister, Raedene. We will miss her vivid memory of the adventures of her childhood: stories of playing at her grandpa’s sawmill, swimming in canals, and playing with cousins, uncles, and aunts. She loved to whistle, sing, and be with her family. Visitation & funeral services will be held at Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home; 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, Idaho. Visitations will be Sunday, December 17th from 6:00 – 7:30 pm and Monday, December 18th at 9:00 am. The funeral will begin Monday, December 18th at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Heyburn, Idaho.
