Marian Lois Hall Anderson passed away Friday, December 8, 2017 in Orem, Utah. Marian was born to Gaylord Wayne Hall and Delsie Essie Bartlett Hall on November 23, 1929 in Burley, Idaho. She was the second child born in the family but was raised as an only child, as her older sister, Evelyn Louise Hall, was born and died before Marian was born. She lived in Burley until the age of 13, when her father, who worked for the Bureau of Reclamation, was transferred to Colorado. For a short time the family lived in Kremmling, Colorado, then Greeley, Colorado, settling in Fort Morgan, Colorado, where she lived until she graduated from High School, in 1948. While living in Fort Morgan, she worked at the local movie theatre and then for an attorney. After graduation, Marian moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, lived with her maternal grandparents, and worked in the office of the old Twin Falls County Hospital. Later, she worked at Youngs Dairy. This is where she met her future husband, Donald Claire Anderson. He worked a block away at McVeys International Harvester. They married on December 17, 1949, and had four children, Janice Dee, Jack DeWayne, Donald Scott, and Nancy Jean. The family was sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in June of 1962. Marian was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings in the church, until later in life when her heath diminished. Marian had an interest in reading and was a charter member of the Bells Lettres Literary club for 55 years. Along with her interest in reading, she loved music, and bookkeeping. She worked for the Magic Valley Memorial Hospital, Doctors Dean and John Affleck, and the Crowley Pharmacy downtown Twin Falls. Being raised without brothers or sisters, she was very happy to be a mother of four children, grandmother to 17, great-grandmother to 41, and recently added one great-great grandchild. In March of 2014, Don and Marian relocated to Orem, Utah, to live in a retirement center close to daughter, Nancy. Don returned to Idaho in September of 2015 to live with his son, Scott and daughter-in-law, Susan in Rupert, due to health conditions. He passed away January 28, of this year while living in Rupert. In 1975, Marian was diagnosed with breast cancer and received treatment and remained cancer free for almost 25 years. She was later diagnosed three additional times with breast cancer, the final time discovered it in her bones. Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Anderson, her parents, Wayne and Delsie Hall, her sister, Evelyn Hall, her daughter-in-law, Marilyn Smith Anderson, and her twin great-grandsons, Bridger Terry and Weston Donald Heinz. She is survived by her daughter Janice (Jan) Heinz of Pocatello, Idaho, son Jack (D.Ann) Anderson of Oceanside, California, son Scott (Susan) of Rupert, Idaho, and daughter Nancy (David) Draper of Orem, Utah, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchild. Services will be held at Parkes Magic Valley Funeral Home. Visitation is 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Friday, December 15 and again 9:00 am – 9:45 AM, Saturday, December 16 with the funeral service following at 10:00 am. Interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Nate and Shar of Envision Hospice for the loving and compassionate care of their mother while she advanced to the next chapter of her life.
