Ruth M. Pike, 79, of Kimberly, Idaho, was received into heaven on Wednesday night, November 29, 2017 surrounded by her family and all of their love.
She was born on June 8, 1938 in Boise, Idaho to James and Dorothy Partee and later adopted by her forever parents George and Evelyn Nelson. She grew up in Clarkston, Washington where she had a wonderful childhood. After high school she attended Whitworth College.
She married the love of her life, Emil Pike Jr. on August 26, 1960 and moved to the Magic Valley. She was a member of Saint Edward's Church and a faithful and dedicated believer.
She fought her battle with cancer as diligently as she tackled all obstacles life brought her; with courage, dignity, and grace.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings along with her husband Emil in 2010.
She is survived by her children Derek (Cindy) Pike of Spanaway, WA, Amy Jones of Kimberly, ID, Brian (Robin) Pike of Twin Falls, ID, Julie (Brad) Burgess of Kimberly, ID, and Kevin (Christine) Pike of Clearwater, FL, and a legacy of 24 beloved grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Those who had the honor of knowing her will always remember her love for a great book and a captivating story. In lieu of flowers, please bring a book to be donated to St. Edward's school when you join us for a gathering to honor her at the Stone House on Wednesday, Dec 6th, from 3:00-4:30 p.m.
