Edwin Henson Jr. finished his life’s journey and departed to his Heavenly Home on November 29, 2017.
Edwin was born to Henry Edwin Henson and Verna D. (Sivadon) Henson on April 11, 1931 in Malvern, Arkansas. Ed attended elementary school in Ft. Smith Arkansas, later graduating from high school in Springfield, Missouri. He served in the U.S.A.F. from 1949 to 1953 in the Korean War.
Edwin and Mary Irene Adamson were married on July 14, 1952 in Tacoma, Washington. They had four wonderful children: Jack G. Henson (Diana) of North Berwick, Maine, Mary J. Birecki (Roman) of Spokane, Washington, Cinthy I. Henson deceased 1961, and Susan G. Hatch (Terry) of Twin Falls, Idaho.
Ed worked for the Boeing Company as a Research and Development Lab. Supervisor for 18 years. He participated in various NASA programs to develop, build and test vehicles for the Apollo program that sent men to the Moon.
In 1973, Ed moved to Twin Falls and began a new life following a divorce from his first wife. Beginning in 1973 Ed worked as a manager for a retail Electrical and Plumbing Supply outlet form 10 years. He then he became an Appliance Repairman for the next nine years.
In 1974, Ed met Bonnie Keim, a local artist, and they were married on March 6, 1978. Bonnie enriched his life in sharing great outdoor adventures in the forests and local fishing holes. Bonnie’s artwork brought great joy to Ed.
In 1993, Ed retired to pursue travel, camping, and fishing adventures with Bonnie, his wife, partner and best friend. Ed and Bonnie are longtime members on the First Baptist Church of Twin Falls.
Ed was preceded in death by both parents and his infant daughter.
Edwin is survived by his wife Bonnie, his three children, two stepchildren and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
