Dakota James Derrick
Dakota James Derrick age 23, of Filer, Idaho passed away on November 23, 2017 in Salt Lake City, Utah from complications of Lupus. He was born August 10, 1994 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Ruthann and Todd Michael Derrick. Dakota grew up in Filer, Idaho. He attended Filer and Canyon Ridge High School. Dakota also went to CSI trade school to be a plumber.
Dakota met Tanisha and they were blessed with their son Akaiden James Derrick. Dakota adored his son and they were best friends. Dakota loved snowboarding, camping, and riding dirt bikes with his friends. He loved to go hunting especially duck hunting, and was always willing to help a friend out. Dakota loved working in the shop Jurassic Garage working on drift cars and building his own car. He enjoyed going to the drift events and car shows. Dakota belonged to the car club Nocturnal Dreams. He was very passionate about the club. In addition he was active as a kid in the youth program at the Nazarene church of Filer, Idaho and was baptized at 8 years old. Dakota loved his mom and son very much and will be missed by many.
Dakota is survived by his parents Ruthann Derrick of Filer, Idaho, Todd (Jeanie Mock) Derrick of Twin Falls, Idaho. His son Akaiden James Derrick and his mom Tanishia (Carey) Loveland of Nampa, Idaho. His best friend Colt Blaser of Twin Falls, Idaho, his brother Benjamin Wayne Derrick of Kimberly, Idaho, his Grandparents Eldon Hobbs Filer, Idaho and Dewayne Derrick of Lee, Oregon. His Aunts and their families Velma (Mike) Anderson, Brittany Nelson, Wyatt Anderson of Kimberly, Idaho. Martha (Kevin) Melton, Kristopher (Dominique) Melton, Dustie Lynn Melton, of Filer, Idaho. Teresa Daniels, Melissa Lowden, Bree Patterson, Kyle Patterson of Boise, Idaho. Edna Hobbs, Kassie Dotson, Jamie Dye, Michelle Hobbs of Twin Falls, Idaho, Kimberly Holt of Carey, Idaho, Chris Daniel, Tristen Daniel of Boise, Idaho. Aftin Wilson, Lara Hobbs of Twin Falls, Idaho, Lisa McDanial of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Karen Grooms of Twin Falls, Idaho and his Uncles Harry Beem of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Phillip Fleming of Oregon.
He was preceded in death by his Grandparents Ben Sisk and Ruth Hobbs, Osa Beem and Harry Beem Sr, his Uncle Rodnie Hobbs and his Aunts Deanie Galloway, Irene Heck and Donna Beem.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls from 5-7 P.M. Memorial Services will be held Friday, December 1, 2017 at the funeral home at 4:00 P.M.
