Kay Aileen Conrad

November 30, 1936 — September 22, 2017

Kay Aileen Conrad, 80, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Twin Falls on Friday, September 22, 2017.  Kay was born on November 30, 1936 to Oliver and Margaret Clough in Hazleton, Idaho.  She was the fourth of six children born to Oliver and Margaret. Kay attended Valley High School and graduated in 1953. Her class, the class of 1953, was the first to graduate from Valley High School.

After graduation from Valley High School Kay moved to Twin Falls where she attended the Twin Falls Business College. While attending school and working in her brother’s restaurant, the Echo, she met her future husband Jerry Conrad. Jerry and Kay were married in Elko, Nevada on October 28, 1953.  Jerry served his country in the Army during the Korean War, which resulted in the couple relocating briefly to Anchorage, Alaska and then Aurora, Colorado. They returned to Twin Falls to begin their lives after Jerry’s military service.  While raising their four children, Kay was a homemaker and worked part time as a checker for Shelby’s grocery store, and then as a Postal Clerk in the Twin Falls USPS contract station. Kay enjoyed camping, reading, working crossword puzzles, gardening and visiting her parents on their farm located in the “Hunt” area of Jerome County. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play a variety of sports from football, to basketball, soccer and baseball. During the past few years Kay became a Boise State Football fan and enjoyed watching the Broncos play.

Kay is survived by her four children; Debbie Wilder of Boise; Brian (Debbie) Conrad of Jerome; Blain (Lisa) Conrad of Twin Falls; Chris (Beth) Conrad of Orlando, Florida; two sisters, JoAnne (Johnny) Wolf of Hazleton, Carol (Bernard) Ellison of Twin Falls and one brother, David Clough of Boise.  She is remembered by her eight grandchildren, Alison Wilder of Boise, Mary (Matt) Dorhman of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Brianna Conrad of Salt Lake City, Utah, Braedon Conrad of Jerome, Jacinda Conrad of Boise, McKalee Conrad of Boise, Sayer Conrad of Twin Falls and Park Conrad of Cocoa, Florida as well as three great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents Margaret and Oliver Clough, her husband Jerry Conrad, her brothers Jack Clough and Phillip Clough and her son-in-law Mark Wilder.

At Kay’s request, there will be no funeral services held.  A private family memorial will be held in celebration of her life. Family requests that donations be made to the Twin Falls Senior Center.
