Eldine (Klauser) Judd was born May 28, 1925 in Nampa, Idaho to David and Katherina (Weimer) Klauser. She went home to be with the LORD on September 20th, 2017.
Eldine attended schools in Rupert, Idaho. She and her siblings worked hard, growing up on the farm. She picked potatoes and thinned beets starting at age 6. She hauled beets and beans and drove a hay boat pulled by horses. She played a harmonica to keep them from getting spooked. After graduation, she worked for Kings Variety stores. During World War II, she and her sisters picked potatoes since many men were in the war. She met Jack Judd after he returned from the war, and they were married January 30th, 1946 at her parent’s home in Burley. They had two children- Sharon (Noel) Ruhter and Jack (Mary) Judd.
They moved to Los Angeles while Jack attended Woodbury College and she worked at the Ennis Shoe Co. until their first child was born. They moved back to Twin Falls in 1948. She worked at Western Auto, Sears and the Mayfair. Whenever Jack was promoted at the newspaper, they moved. They spend a lot of time in Havre, Montana where she was the office manager for the Havre Livestock yards. Her hobbies were embroidery, quilt making, gardening and golfing. She scored her first hole-in-one during league play in Montana. She loved tending to her many flowers and could be found working in her garden until the last couple months of her life. Eldine learned to play the violin when young and loved to sing. She also enjoyed entertaining in her home and was well known for her dinner parties. Her family, whom she loved to spoil with goodies, was important to her. They loved going to her home to visit.
She is survived by her daughter Sharon (Noel) Ruhter of Jerome and her son Jack (Mary) Judd of Lincoln, Nebraska, 6 grandchildren, Derek (Kathy) Ruhter, Lance (Katie) Ruhter, Lon (Marie) Ruhter, Rochelle (Tracy) Ahrens, Dustin (Michaela) Judd and Jason (Amy) Judd. She is also survived by 16 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Judd, her parents Dave and Katherina Klauser, and 8 siblings: Emma (Henry) Weber, Ed Klauser, Freida (Harold) Uhrich, Mert (Bill) Fowler, Herman Klauser, Lillian (Jack) Starr, Irene (Lamar) Simmons and Ruby (Ron) Fairchild.
Eldine was baptized and a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Her graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Cemetery Thursday, October 12th, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. Memorials may be sent to Peace Lutheran Open Arms Worship for Shut-Ins in Filer.
