Frank J. Anderson

Frank Jr. (Andy) Anderson, born March 24 1926, in Magna, Utah, passed away Thursday morning August 17, 2017 in Twin Falls, Idaho.

He leaves behind him his loving wife of 71 years, Yvonne(Jones) Anderson, five children: Sharon (Darry) Harmon of Jerome, Mary (Steve) Sellers of Twin Falls, Terry Miller of Twin Falls, Rona Shoolroy of Hailey, and Wayne T.(Samantha) Anderson of Twin Falls. He also leaves behind eleven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren along with one sister Gail (Jon) Broadhead of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his son Stan Anderson, his Parents, three sisters, two brothers, one grandson, and one great grandson.

He entered the navy in 1944 after being told he was too young to join the merchant marines. He served in the South Pacific campaign during World War II as a cook and a gunner on the U.S.S. Wiley. He was honorably discharged from duty in June of 1946. He and Yvonne were married on July 8, 1946 in Berger, Idaho. They have resided and raised their children in the Magic Valley since that time.

During his life Frank was a well known mechanic around the Magic Valley. He overhauled his first automobile, a Model A, at the age of 13. He believed there was nothing that couldn’t be fixed. He was also known as a custom Hayman in his later years.

Frank loved to fish any where he could find water and pack into the Selway on horse back and hunt for a month every winter. He will be greatly missed by all.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday August 23, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Twin Falls, ID.
