Jim Koepnick

April 29, 1926 — August 17, 2017

Jim Gerald Koepnick, 91, of Twin Falls passed away peacefully with his loving daughter at his side on August 17, 2017 in his home.  Jim was born April 29th, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of AL  and Maggie May Litzinger Koepnick.  As a small child he moved to Twin Falls with his family. On July 30th, 1946 he married Dorothy Ann Hanby and to this union they had six children. Jim worked in house construction and heating and air conditioning most of his working career.  
In his earlier years he enjoyed mining for gold, snowmobiling, and RVing trips to Arizona for the winter.  He enjoyed his dogs- Muffy and Tuffy, which he missed very much, and hiked many a mile with.  Jim is survived by his three children Rita (Elwyn) Tupper of Fairfield, Jim (Ada) of Twin Falls, and Jeff of Twin Falls.  Also surviving is his granddaughter Tami Koepnick, who he raised on his own and his twin brother Jack Harold Koepnick.  Jim always made sure everyone knew he was fifteen minutes older than Jack.  He also has seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and four great, great grandchildren.  
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dorothy, two daughters Linda Lee Race and Laurie Ann Koepnick, and one son Gary "Tub" Lynn Koepnick.  Two brothers, Robert "Bud" Koepnick, Jerry Koepnick, and three sisters, Frene Reinbold, Alma Baird, and Lois Timm. 
A visitation and a time for shared memories will be held at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home of Twin Falls, ID on Tuesday August 22, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M..  Following will be a graveside service on Wednesday August 23, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Park starting at 11:00 A.M..
