Richard C. Lint

February 16, 1932 — June 11, 2017

Richard (Dick) Lint, age 85, of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away at home on June 11, 2017. Dick was born in Peoria, Illinois on February 16, 1932 to Leo Lint and Marjorie Lint.  He graduated from Farmington High School with the class of 1950.  He was a 66 year member of Steamfitters Local 353 in Peoria, Illinois.

Dick met his future wife Pat Porter, on a blind date set up by their friends, which led to their marriage on February 13, 1955 in Farmington, Illinois.   Dick was an outdoor enthusiast, his main interest being duck hunting with his fellow hunters, his black labrador retriever, Koley Clint, and fishing.  He and his wife, Pat, retired early and left Illinois with their truck and new fifth wheel trailer to have a new adventure. They took seasonal jobs with Grand Teton Lodge Company in Grand Teton National Park where they worked for 6 summers, becoming snowbirds in the winter. In 1995, Pat took a year-round job  with the Lodge Company and lived in staff housing at Jackson Lake Lodge for 7 years.  In the summers  Dick worked as a fishing guide on Jackson Lake and in the winter became an expert "house husband", while Pat worked.  It was a unique and wonderful experience to live and work in a national park year-round.  Pat retired from the Lodge Company in 2001 and made their home in Twin Falls, Idaho, near their children who also lived in Idaho.

Dick is survived by wife, Pat; sister Joan McLees of Charleston, South Carolina; daughter Susan (Mark) Allen of Hazelton, Idaho; son Michael Lint of Idaho Falls, Idaho; grandchildren Shane (Stacy) Allen of Dickinson, ND; Stephen Allen of Hazelton, Idaho; Katie Allen of Hazelton, Idaho; great grandchildren, Camryn DeVries of Dickinson, ND; Addy Allen of Dickinson ND; Blake Allen of Dickinson, ND; Ada Allen of Hazelton, Idaho; special nephews Mark (Vicie) McLees of Columbia, South Carolina; Dr. Steven (Rachelle) McLees of Charleston, South Carolina.
