LeRoy LaVern “Roy” Sherrets, 55 of Twin Falls, Idaho went home to be with the Lord on May 30, 2017 from St. Luke’s Magic Valley Regional Medical Center after complications with pneumonia and constant pain.
Roy was born December 23, 1961 at Magic Valley Memorial Hospital in Twin Falls, to Jerry I. Sherrets born in Harveyville, Kansas and Verna (Wilson) Sherrets born in Nampa, Idaho. He attended grade school at Washington school, middle school at O’Leary Junior High and graduated from Twin Falls High School. Roy was on the honor roll.
Due to medical health problems, Roy was never able to marry. But he loved his family with all his heart and he would’ve been a great husband and father.
Roy was a member of the First Christian Church, baptized March 10, 1974. He had a very close relationship with his Lord and Savior. His first job was with M&Y Electric; he then worked for JB’s Big Boy, Addison Avenue West restaurant, and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Roy enjoyed writing, (he had taken some college courses on writing.) He loved reading and he especially loved working on the Blossom Ranch Three Creek. Roy was a cowboy to the tee!
Surviving Roy are his loving parents, Jerry and Verna Sherrets of Twin Falls, Idaho; sister Ginger (Gary) Brandt of Twin Falls; sister Dianna (Cameron) Brown of Boise, Idaho; nieces, Savannah Hill of Twin Falls; and Sage Brown of Boise; nephews, Sean Thomas (Justice) Jordahl of Twin Falls; and Jakota Brown of Boise; great-nieces, Aryannah Brennan of Jerome, Idaho; and Brooklyn Zamarripa of Twin Falls, Idaho; and great nephews; Vince Brennan of Jerome, Idaho and Tungsten Brown of Boise, Idaho.
A celebration of life for Roy will be held Wednesday, June 7 at 2:00 PM at Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Rd. in Twin Falls, Idaho. Roy will be laid to rest at a later time in Sunset Memorial Park in Twin Falls, Idaho.
The family requests that donation in Roy’s memory be given to the Idaho Youth Ranch 162 Main Ave. East, Twin Falls, Idaho 83301.
