Kenneth N. Warr, 68, of Murtaugh, Idaho passed away at home surrounded by his family on April 30, 2017. Ken was born in Burley, Idaho, Oct. 10, 1948, to Irene & Farnum Warr. He graduated from Burley High School in 1966. While in high school he was very active in FFA holding several local and state offices. He was named an Idaho Star Farmer. He also participated in the 4-H program.
He attended University of Idaho and joined the Navy after his first year, serving for 13 years. He spent four tours of duty in Viet Nam and received an officer's commission while in Viet Nam. After the service he moved to Boise and volunteered at the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) before becoming a Service Officer. He met his wife, Cherie while serving as a DAV volunteer in Boise. Ken's first assignment was in Albuquerque, N.M. and he later served in San Francisco and Los Angeles as Supervisor of the area offices. He retired from DAV in October 2001 after serving 20 years. He returned to the family farm to retire.
Ken was always an outdoorsman. Growing up on a farm he was either riding horses, feeding livestock, irrigating, working with 4-H or FFA projects, hunting pheasants, fishing, fishing, fishing. He enjoyed camping with family in Northern California, Oregon & Idaho especially with nieces and nephews. If Ken were there, the camp had the biggest campfire and the fishing was perfect for the nieces and nephews. They always caught something, sometimes only a crawdad. He also enjoyed refinishing antique furniture and doing fine wood working projects, and making toys for family & children at Christmas.
Ken is survived by his beloved wife Cherie, and "adopted" daughter Elisa Rodriguez. He is also survived by siblings, Ed (Ann) of Fallbrook, CA, Carol (Wendell) Robinson of Murtaugh, and Paul (Charlene) of Clinton, MI and numerous nieces and nephews.
The services will be held at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral & Crematory, Twin Falls, ID on Thursday, May, 4, 2017, at 2:00pm.
