Elwood Cecil "Cotton" Thompson - passed away peacefully on the morning of April 23, 2017 at 100 years young. Cotton was born December 8, 1916 in Storrs, UT to Chester Ray and Nettie Thompson. He married Norma Jo Price, his sweetheart, on August 28, 1945 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they raised three sons. Cotton had a sweet relationship with his wife during their nearly 70 years of marriage and has deeply missed Jo since her passing two years ago. He is survived by his three sons; Kenneth Lynn (Laura), Steven J. (Kerry), and Brent E. (Kim), 12 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Jo, his parents, three brothers, a sister, and a great-granddaughter. For 35 years, Cotton was a premiere auto painter for the Chevrolet dealership in Twin Falls, ID. Cotton was an avid fisherman and tied his own flies. He loved spending time in the outdoors and going to the family cabin outside of Sun Valley with his family. He also found great joy in supporting his sons in different sporting events. His grandchildren will alway have fond memories of him singing to them and reciting silly poems. He was an active member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held many callings throughout his life. For the last 9 years he has reside at the Bridgeview Care Center. The family would like to thank the staff as well as Dr. Victorija Laucius for the love, care and support they gave him. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 1:00 pm at the LDS Church located at 847 Eastland Drive North. Viewing will be held prior from 12:00-1:00.
