Betty Yeggy

Lorene "Betty" Yeggy passed away on March 17, 2017 at Twin Falls Care Center. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. Her love of people and conversation will be especially remembered and missed.

Betty was born in Riverside, Iowa on November 9, 1929 to Frank and Mamie Kallaus. She graduated from Riverside High School in May 1948 and married Jim Yeggy on September 11, 1948. They moved to Iowa City, Iowa where they resided until September 1971 when they moved to Twin Falls, Idaho with their five children. Jim and Betty owned Yeggy's Car Wash for several years then both moved on to other professions. Betty worked at Magic Valley Memorial Hospital and also at Sears for many years selling appliances.

Betty enjoyed bowling, camping at Sugarbottom Reservoir in Iowa, crocheting, crossword puzzles and her dogs and bird. In later years, Jim and Betty were avid fans of both college and pro football and basketball games on T.V.

In June 2014, due to health problems, Betty moved to the Twin Falls Care Center where she enjoyed bingo, crafts, coloring and socializing with the other residents. Betty's family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Twin Falls Care Center for their compassionate and professional care these past few years. Betty is survived by Jeff Yeggy (Becky), Lori Peterson, and Sue Etter of Twin Falls, Jay Yeggy (Marilyn) of Boise and Lisa Wales of Huntsville, NC. Also her 16 grandchildren and 9 great grand­children. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mamie Kallaus, her brother, Carl Kallaus, her grandson, Mick Peterson and her loving husband, Jim Yeggy.

Services will be held Friday, March 24, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Parke's Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd, Twin Falls, Idaho. Condolences may be shared at www.magicvalley  funeralhome.com.
