Mary Jo Williams
1937 ~ 2017
Our beautiful, loving mother, Mary Jo Williams, passed away peacefully at St. Luke’s Magic Valley Regional Medical Center on March 3, 2017 due to complications from broken. Mary Jo was 79 years old and a lifelong resident of Twin Falls, Idaho.
She was born to Walter and Ottilla Plackett on September 21, 1937 in Topeka, Kansas. Mary Jo was eight years old when she came to Twin Falls with her family. She attended Twin Falls High School graduating in 1955 with a degree in bookkeeping.
On March 9, 1955 in Twin Falls, Idaho, she married Raymond B Williams. From that union, she gave birth to Lane R. Williams in 1959 and Troy L. Williams in 1963.
Mary Jo had so many interests and activities that they couldn’t possibly all be mentioned. She loved horses and became an avid and proficient horsemen. She loved to hunt and fish. She also loved the South Hills and was an avid arrowhead hunter and collector. She also had a passion for bowling and she excelled at winning the”Gutter Gussy” award many times. She also held individual and team state championships.
Mary Jo was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and had recently become eligible for her 50 year pin. The highlight of her Eastern Star membership was when she became Worthy Matron of the Filer, Idaho Chapter.
Mary Jo worked hard her entire life of the telephone operator and bookkeeper. She co-owned with her husband a meat cutting and wrapping business in Filer, Idaho. She was also a school bus driver for the Filer, Idaho school district; and later she was employed as a secretary for the Amalgamated Sugar factory.
Her last job was as a night auditor for the Weston Inn where she worked until she retired.
Surviving Mary Jo are her sons, Lane and Troy Williams of Twin Falls, Idaho. Cody Cole of Boise, Idaho and Heather and Kaden Williams of Hollister, Idaho; she also is survived by numerous nephews and nieces and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter & Ottilla Plackett two brothers, Lyle & Earl Plackett, her ex-husband, Ray Williams in 2016 and her life companion, Gary Robinson.
A Memorial Service will be held on March 9, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Rd. in Twin Falls, ID. everyone is invited to come and celebrate Mary Jo’s life and her passing to a better place.
