Carol Joy Shutt (Mix) 69, Lost her valiant fight with cancer on February 23rd, 2017.

She Leaves her husband of 44 years this April, Gail Ray Shutt of Twin Falls, Idaho.

Mom was the 5th of 8 children and her mothers baby girl.

She was the loving Grandmother to Nine.

Carol was born January 15th, 1948 in Pasco, Washington to James Henry Mix and Isabelle (Dewey0Mix who preceded her in death.

She spent the majority of her childhood in Colorado with her siblings. However she lived in Las Vegas, Nevada for most of her life. Carol remembered fondly the years she worked at the Union Plaza. She worked hard to become a Realtor in Las Vegas, However the hours kept her away from her family more than she liked. Mom and Dad worked hard in creating a successful machine shop,Western Machine, for 22 Years. From 1982 - 1985 they lived in Beaver, Utah where she made many friends and loved to garden. In 1985 they moved back to Las Vegas, in 2005, when Carol and Gail moved to Twin Falls, she was unsure and uneasy at first,didnt feel like home.  Until the lord brought them to The Kimberly Church of the Nazarene. Soon after though she was making friends and witnessing to everyone she met. She did her best to meet the needs of the church, by giving her time and energy. She felt lead to teach women's bible study. Where "her ladies" stole her heart and filled her with joy.
Her focus in life changed. God first and her family second. What does God first mean? it means starting and ending your day in prayer. Thanking God for your gift of salvation and then praying for every family member by name that they to will receive the gift of salvation. Mom wanted us all to experience a personal relationship with our lord Jesus and if you were already saved by faith, then she prayed you would become stronger in the word and bolder in your witnessing.
when we say Mom put her family second what does that mean? First off, Mom's Family was way more than her genealogical tree. Her family was also her church, her friends, her children's friends and even down to hospice ladies, one whom mom told she loved the first time they met. She treated all her family with love and kindness from a heart overflowing with the love of Christ. Her joys in her Family, Alongside the burdens, were brought daily before the Lord. The Bible tells us to put God first and she did what he commanded, but she did it with the entire family in tow.Mom was many things in her life: a loving daughter, sister, wife, Mother, Stepmother, casino worker, Realtor, Business owner, Grandma, Great Grandma, but her Legacy lies in the fact she became a child of God and friend to Jesus. she lived her life accordingly and left no doubt that she was christian.
She had several Hobbies that she loved to fill her free time with, Undoubtedly, these hobbies just continued to show the joy and love she had for her loved ones. She constantly was taking pictures, Filming, and editing her film for VHS family Videos. she loved compiling pictures set to music for family events. She also delved into family genealogy to discover the most she could about our family and would share with all who would listen.
Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love, faith, and signature of joy.
The real success in her life was the relationship with her family and friends and above all being able to share her love for the Lord.  
We ask for prayers of rejoicing her amazing life and prayers for the deep sorrow that our mom is no longer with us here on earth. we look forward to rejoicing with her when we are reunited. Her prayer is that you all live your life in such a way so as to join her in heaven.
