Della Marie Barney Lile 1947 ~ 2017 Della Marie Barney Lile, age 70 of Stockton, California, formerly of Twin Falls, Idaho left this world to be with Heavenly Father on February 23, 2017. Della was born in Annis, Idaho daughter of Clarence Owen and Edith (Rose) Barney. She started school in Dillon, Montana. The family then moved to Harlowton, Montana in 1955, then to Avery, Idaho, returned to Harlowton, Montana where Della graduated from high school. She then attended the University of Montana from 1965 to 1968. On May 1, 1977, Della married the love of her life Fred Lile and together they had one child, Jacob Clifford born in 1979. Della began her work years as a telegrapher for Milwaukee Railroad in 1966; she worked summers there until 1969 when they hired her full-time. She remained working there until the railroad closed in 1980. Della was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. From childhood, Della was an avid reader. She read everything she could get her hands on. She read every book in the school and city libraries nearly everywhere she lived. She had a love of history, religion, philosophy, arcane subjects, poetry and literature. She read all of Shakespeare’s plays and sonnets; Yeats, Dylan Thomas, British and American poetry, many plays, Wolfe, Hemingway, Faulkner and many others. When not reading, Della love to listen to music, all kinds such as classical, folk, rock ‘n roll and country. Della always said that her greatest pleasure in life was her family. She stated that her husband and her were fortunate enough to have the love of his three children as well as that of their son Jake and their many grandchildren as well. She enjoyed her time with her children and grandchildren more than anything else in her life and wants them to know how much she loves them and appreciates the time they gave to her. In her words, “ It was the finest gift I could ever have received. I will be looking forward to being with them once again.” Della is survived by her son, Jacob Lile of Manteca, California; her stepchildren, Rick (Treva) Lile of Rialto, California; Tom (Sandy) Lile of Stockton, California; Stan Shrock and Amee Lile of Stockton, California. Nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving, is her brother Joe (Rae Dean) Barney of Umatilla, Oregon; and sister Jeri (Bill) Adams of Lewiston, Montana; her nephew Mike (Sonia) Stiles of Hermiston, Oregon, niece Jennifer Stiles of St. Louis, Missouri; and sister-in-law’s, Marilyn (Al) Loraas of Casper, Wyoming; Pat (Mike) Cavey of Bozeman, Montana; and Linda (Dick) Gates of Great Falls, Montana. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Andrew Lile, her sisters Mary Barney, Ellen Barney, Kay Barney; parents Clarence and Edith Barney; and sister Nola Jean Stiles. At Della’s request, no services were held. Cremation was handled under the direction of Parke’s Magic Valley funeral home of Twin Falls, Idaho.
