Charles Alfred Lee Jr.

June 28, 1951 — January 16, 2017

Charles Alfred (aka Junior or Chuck) Lee, Jr. age 65, of Filer ID passed away at his home in Filer, ID on January 16, 2017 after an extended illness.

Charles was born in Norfolk, VA on June 28, 1951 to Charles (Sonny) and Deloris (Allen) Lee.  Charles graduated from Twin Falls High School and later attended classes at the College of Southern Idaho where he worked till his retirement in the CSI Security Department.

Most people who knew Charles, knew him as Chuck while his brothers and sisters affectionately called him Junior. Chuck married his wife, Shirley (Wolfe) Lee, on September 29, 1980.
He also has two sons, Michael Lee and Jeffery Lee from a previous marriage to Lora Garner Coburn.

Chuck had many hobbies throughout his life; including camping, arrowhead hunting, trapping, guns, deer, elk, & bird hunting and loved the South Hills; spending many weekends during the fall and summer with his family there.  Chuck loved his motorcycles too.  His most recent and best loved was his Kawasaki Vulcan.  One of Chuck’s great loves was cooking and he was the self-proclaimed but true master of the holiday pumpkin pie and his mom’s recipe for homemade rolls which people clamored for.  Chuck shared many of his special recipes, his own and many from his mom’s kitchen, with friends and family. He took great pride in his beautiful lawn and garden.  His garden was ‘the community garden’ meant to share with all his friends and family.  He would grin from ear to ear with pride when someone would compliment his lawn, his garden or his cooking.

Of the many things Chuck loved, his greatest love of all were the scores of friends and loving family in his life.  Chuck made friends everywhere. In earlier years, he would spend days off working on other people’s appliances, TV’s and whatever else they might need. He never really turned down anyone who asked for help.  He was well loved at the many places he was employed – one of his first jobs was at Wilson Bates where he was ‘The Maytag Repair Man’.  He also worked at Lytle Signs, then went on to Idaho Frozen Foods (Lamb Weston), then served as a Security Supervisor at Cactus Pete’s in Jackpot, NV. Chuck’s final position was for the College of Southern Idaho Security Division, as a Shift Supervisor. Due to health issues, he was forced to leave that much loved job where he made many special friends.  Chuck also served the City of Filer ID, as Reserve Police Officer and his home was open to one and all, including many law enforcement, not only in Filer but the Twin Falls Sheriff’s Department and Twin Falls Police Department.  It was uncanny how these officers could ‘sense’ when Chuck was cooking as they always seemed to show up just in time to enjoy his newest dish.  And he LOVED that!

Generous to a fault, that was Chuck, in terms of time, money and caring.  He had a huge heart for people and loved everyone’s little ones, family or not and they loved him too. He was Grandpa Chuck to his own grandchildren, neighbors and friends alike.

Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Charles (Sonny) Lee, Sr., his mother Deloris (Allen) Lee, and his younger brother, Mickey Allen Lee.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Wolfe) Lee – Filer ID, sister Imogene Hamilton (William) – Twin Falls ID, sister Jackie Lee – Twin Falls ID, his sons Michael Lee (Stephanie) – Meridian ID and Jeffery Lee – Twin Falls ID.  Also surviving are his aunts- Juanita Dzienis, Joyce Winkle and Saundra Thompson-Dean, along with one nephew, Derrick Daarud, and 2 nieces, Jamie Darnall & Kimberly Shropshire.  Chuck is also survived by many precious grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home & Crematory, 2531 Kimberly Rd, Twin Falls ID on Monday January 23, 2017 at 2PM.   The family suggests donations be made to a charity of your choice.
