Due to weather and other concerns-the funeral services for Roger have been moved to Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home!Roger Wakeland Marsh age 97 of Twin Falls Idaho passed away at his home on January 3, 2017. Roger was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 8, 1919 to George Roger and Hazel Blanche Marsh. In High School he was involved in Glee Club playing the leading role in the musical comedy (The Lucky Jade), Hi Y, and the bowling club. He graduated from Woodward High School in Toledo in 1938. After graduation Roger joined the US Air Force in 1947. He met his sweetheart Louise and they were married November 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were sealed in the Boise, Idaho Temple in 1984 and resided in Twin Falls, Idaho where they raised their 3 children, George, David and Linda. Roger was a member of the Magic Valley Flying club and for many years flew into counties for breakfast. Roger and Louise started and operated the Magic Valley movie theaters for many years. The Motor Vu drive in was the "in" spot to go in Twin Falls providing before movie entertainment of the Motor Vu train, pony rides, fun toys and they always put on huge firework show for Twin Falls every fourth of July. After that Roger worked for the City of Twin Falls, Equitable Savings & Loan, and then purchased Montgomery Wards until their retirement. After retirement they spent winters as snow birds in Arizona. Roger was an avid fly fisherman who spent countless hours tying his own flys and catching the big ones. Mom and Dad loved the outdoors and enjoyed many camping trips and family vacations with their children and grandchildren. Roger was a lifelong member of the Lions Club; at his passing he had been a member for 69 years! He also was a member of the Magichords Barber Shop singing group, where Roger, Louise and Linda traveled to many competitions together. He sang with them for 20+ years. After Louise's passing in 1987, Roger married Roene Morey, they spent ten years together before her passing. They enjoyed each other’s company and working in the yard. Grandpa loved his home and did not want to leave it in his later years. This was made possible by his late son George, and grandson Spencer, living and caring for him until his passing. The family would like to especially thank Spencer for his compassion, love and caring for Grandpa. A special thanks to Evelyn, for being the best neighbor and always there when needed. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Hazel Marsh, wife Trena Louise Marsh, wife Roene Marsh, sister Doris Hamilton, son George, and great granddaughter Maycee Eldredge. Roger is survived by David (Wendy) Marsh of Twin Falls, Idaho. Linda (Lynden) Mower, Jerome Idaho. 10 grandchildren, Jessica Marsh, of Filer, Idaho, Spencer Marsh, Filer, Idaho, Heather Joy (Chris) of Boise, Idaho, Nicole (John) Carter of Great Falls, Montana, Robyn (Chris) Hall of Twin Falls, Idaho, Cora (Brad) Thompson of Jerome, Idaho, Gina Stapleton of Twin Falls, Idaho, Randi (Brandon) Eldredge, of Twin Falls, Idaho, Bryan (Ashley) Hiebert of Twin Falls, Idaho, Aimee Hiebert of Boise, Idaho and 20 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held Sunday January 8th at 5-7pm at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls. A funeral will be held Monday January 9th 10am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 10th Ward building located at 229 Park Ave. Twin Falls with a viewing at 9am with a burial following the service at Sunset Memorial Park.
