As he got older he spent countless hours with his cousins getting into a lot of mischief. Dan was extremely intelligent and a good athlete. In school, he participated in all sports and excelled at most. Scholastically, he was one of the brightest and graduated high school at the top of his class. His interests were many and varied. He enjoyed baseball, motorcycles, skiing, football and spending summers and holidays at the family cabin. He reminisced often about his time spent there. Dan also enjoyed all things electronic, video games, science fiction, and last but not least “debating”anyone and everyone. After graduating high school, he attended the University of Puget Sound where he was a member of the Phi Sigma Alpha fraternity and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 1988. He then went on to attend “Arizona State University College of Law” from 1988 to 1991. In 1994, he moved back to Idaho. At the time of his passing, he was President of “Douglas Tire Pros”in Jerome, Idaho. Dan is survived by his wife of 20 years Lisa Douglas, parents, Kerm and Kay Douglas, sister, Colleen (Douglas) Lakey; brother, Jeff Douglas, nephew, Mike Lakey, children Kara Przybos (Myers), Hunter Douglas and Alyse Douglas. He is preceded in death by his nephew, Jeramy Kienzle. In closing, Dan loved his children and family dearly. I’M FREE Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free I’m following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard him call; I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way; I found that place at the close of day. If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared a laugh, a kiss; Ah yes, these things, I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life’s been full, I savored much; Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch. Perhaps my time seems all too brief; Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now, He set me free.
