Carlton Edward "Ed" Lammers, age 81, passed away on December 21, 2016 in Twin Falls, Idaho. He and his wife, Mary moved to Twin Falls earlier this year to be closer to family.
Ed was born in Fulton, Kansas on February 13, 1935. He was the oldest of five children born to Wanda and Carl Lammers. He moved to Malin, Oregon as an infant. He attended school in Malin, OR..
He moved with his family throughout the state of California until he entered the Army in 1954. He was stationed in Germany. After he came back from Germany, he met his wife of 60 years, Mary. He moved with his wife to Eureka, California. He worked in logging during this time. He and Mary had 3 boys, Randy, David and Kenny.
He worked in multiple towns throughout California. He, Mary and the boys settled in Tulelake area in 1970. He worked in farming for a few years before becoming foreman at Western Polymer Corporation. It was here he taught his sons about hard work. The boys and many of their friends worked there with him.
He and his sons went into farming in the late 1980's. In the early 1990's, gas pipelines were popping up everywhere. He decided this was his opportunity to travel and do something different. The pipeline work took him from Tulelake, to Idaho, even back east to New Hampshire and south to Florida. He absolutely loved the pipeline and the people he met. He retired from the pipeline in 2001.
Ed made friends wherever he went. His friends were more like family at times. He still had contact with them until his passing.
Ed was preceded in death by his mother, father, sisters, Bev and Carla, brother Ronny, and his oldest son Randy. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary,
sons, David (Bev) of Twin Falls, 1D, Kenny (Vicki) of Yuma, AZ. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jaylene, Danny, Trevor, Lance, and youngest brother Herman.
Per Ed's wishes no memorial services will be held. We would like to extend a special thank you to the faculty at Grace's assisted living, Dr. Helms and Mike Parke.
