Virginia Lea Cravens
1927 ~ 2016
Virginia Lea Cravens, 89 of Twin Falls, passed away November 29, 2016 at St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center in Twin Falls, Idaho.
She was born to Gilbert and Ailene (Ackerman) Sweet in New Plymouth, Idaho on April 17, 1927. She was the oldest of 5 children. Her father worked for the Union Pacific Railroad and this is where her love of trains came from.
She married the love of her life, Lloyd Cravens in 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She met him while he was stationed at the end of WWII in Sun Valley, Idaho. They moved to Ohio where their first son, Gary was born. Later they moved to Twin Falls, Idaho and had 5 more children.
She was our beautiful mother, who loved Jesus with all her heart and served Him ‘til her last breath… Many have been blessed by her letters of encouragement.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Cravens, her son, James, son-in-law, Stan Jantz, granddaughters, Stephanie Cravens and Mandy Sharp and one brother, Russel Sweet.
Surviving Virginia is her son, Gary (Marie) Cravens of Filer; daughter, Susie (Steve) Sharp of Filer; daughter, Lori Jantz of Twin Falls; son, Tony Cravens of Meridian; and son, Joseph Cravens of Twin Falls; also surviving are her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Virginia’s life will be held at a later date. The arrangements are under the direction of the Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home and Crematory of Twin Falls, Idaho.
