Peter Floyd Otero, 78, of Twin Falls, Idaho passed away October 27th, 2016 at his home in Twin Falls. Peter was born October 22nd, 1938 to Ambrose & Della Marez Otero in Fruita, Colorado. He spent his early years there attending school before moving to Twin Falls in 1957. He met & courted Vida Brubaker prior to being drafted into the Army in 1961. He was stationed at Fort Ord, CA traveled to Maryland and eventually became stationed in Nuremberg, Germany. He proudly served his country in the Army, including earning a Marksman award, before being honorably discharged in 1963. He returned to Twin Falls and married Vida in 1964. To this union, five children were born – Michael, Christopher, Lisa, Joseph & Nicholas. Peter attended the College of Southern Idaho obtaining a degree in autobody mechanics & managed the V-1 Service Station in Twin Falls. He retired after 30 years of dedication to Idaho Frozen Foods. He enjoyed long distance phone calls with his daughter, traveling back East to see grandchildren, visits from relatives near & far, fishing & trips to Jackpot. He treasured socializing with many lifelong friends, often telling stories into the evening on his front porch. His gift of conversation, ability to find uniqueness in simplicity & hearty laugh will be deeply missed by friends & family. Throughout his many travels in life, he never knew a stranger.
He is survived by brothers Robert Otero & Howard Otero both of Twin Falls, Vida & his five children - Michael (Amy) of Rome, NY, Christopher (Dawn) of Buhl, ID, Lisa (Charles) of Boise, ID, Joseph (Stephanie) of Wendell, ID & Nicholas (Andrea) of Mountain House, CA, 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren & his special angel, Karen Moncada. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Fred Otero & Leroy Otero both of Twin Falls & numerous extended family members. A celebration of Peter’s life will be held at Parke's Funeral Home on Thursday, November 3rd, 2016 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow with military honors at Twin Falls Cemetery. A viewing will be held for family & friends on Wednesday evening, Novermber 2nd, 2016 at Parke's Funeral Home from 5 - 7pm.
