Mary Basham

Mary Basham, age 90 of Twin Falls, Idaho passed away at home on September 24, 2016 due to natural causes.
Mary was born February 10, 1926 in Coke, Texas to O.W. French and Myrtie Lou McFarlin- French. She attended grade school at Cypress and Goodhope in Texas. She graduated from Winnsboro High School and later moved to Fort Worth and worked for King’s Candy Company and Royal Tire.
Mary met her future husband, Joseph Virgil Basham, through his sister, Nadine. They were married on February 21, 1947 in Fort Worth, Texas. They had one daughter, Lois Ann Evans. They worked together many years on ranches.
Mary loved working outside, taking care of her flowers and gardening. She made the best pies in town and worked many days in the kitchen making pies for the restaurant with her daughter, Lois in Alvord, Texas. She attended the Southern Baptist Church in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Virgil Basham in 2000, and brothers, Jack French, Jerry Don French and Billy Bob Freeman, her sisters, Loreta Freeman, Pauline Stroud and Dorris Armstrong.
She is survived by her sister, Geneva Richards of Saltillo, TX; sister, Brenda McCoy of Tyler, TX and daughter, Lois Ann Evans; grandson, Cameron Jordan Evans, grandson, Rusty (Regina) Evans, great grandson, Derek Evans, great granddaughters, Kourtni Lake, and Melissa Evans (Fiance` Ryan Perkett) and sons, Conner, Justin and Tyler, all of Twin Falls, Idaho.
Funeral Services for Mary will be held Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will follow service at the West End Cemetery in Buhl, Idaho.
