Betty Jean Prunty, 85, of Twin Falls, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a short and courageous battle with cancer.
Betty was born March 8, 1931 in Elk Creek, Nebraska. She moved with her family in the 1940's to the Stricker Ranch south of Hansen, Idaho. She was married to George Jesser for 29 years and had 4 sons and a daughter. Later in life she met and married Jim Prunty May 30, 1986. They had many adventures, including working as volunteers in Alaska on the Exxon Valdez oil spill clean up. She became an avid hunter and enjoyed being a camp host for the forest service. She also volunteered for the Civil Air Patrol. They traveled extensively throughout the mid-west in their motorhome. Camping with family and friends became a major part of Betty’s life during the last several years.
She is survived by her husband, Jim and her four sons, Don (Anita), Ron (Gurney & Scott), Tom (Cindy) and Lonnie (Cynthia), and step son Tom (Vickie) Prunty, sister - Mary Norris. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She was proceeded in death by her daughter Connie, parents Floyd and Babe Anderson, and brother Dan Anderson. A private family ceremony is to be held at a later date.
