Elisabeth Miszczenko, much loved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, was taken into the arms of the angels on Sunday, September 18, at the age of 88.
She was born in a small village, Mlinska Vinograd, Yugoslavia to Georg and Barbara Sefer on October 27, 1927. She was the oldest of four children. During World War II, when Elisabeth was 14, she moved with her family to Germany. After the war, she met and married her husband Vladimir on February 14, 1947. They started their family in Germany and with the help of the Christian Church of Kimberly immigrated to Hansen, Idaho with their two young children in August 1956. Their youngest son was born in Twin Falls, Idaho in 1959.
Elisabeth spoke six languages and could tell endless tales about being a young girl during World War II. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who worked tirelessly to provide for the needs of her family. Few things mattered more to her than knowing her loved ones had a place to call home. Elisabeth took great pride in her garden and delighted in flowers, babies and hummingbirds. Since 2002, she had been residing in Boise with her eldest son, Walter and his wife Deanna. Words cannot describe how much she was loved or how much she will be missed.
Elisabeth is preceded in death by her daughter, Claudia Miszczenko Beard; her husband, Vladimir Miszczenko, as well as her younger brother, Georg, in Germany. Survivors include her eldest daughter, Rosa, her sisters, Annie and Kattie, all of whom reside in Germany, and her sons, Walter Miszczenko (Deanna), and George Miszczenko (Camille). Her grandchildren, Angie Rice (Jim), Ron Beard, Shauna Donabedian (Jack), Tonya Gray (Gary), Alex Miszczenko, Andre Miszczenko (April), Nick Miszczenko, Vaughn Miszczenko and Quinton Miszczenko; 18 great grandchildren and many more great-great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on September 22, at Parke’s Funeral Home in Twin Falls, Idaho between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Memorial service will be at Parke's Funeral Home on Friday, September 23, at 10:00 a.m. Pallbearers will include Ron Beard, Alex Miszczenko, Andre Miszczenko, Nick Miszczenko, Quinton Miszczenko, and Gary Gray.
For those who are unable to attend, flowers and donations to commemorate Elisabeth’s life and family will be graciously accepted and appreciated and can be made in her name at Parke’s Funeral Home.
Family members would like to express heartfelt gratitude to Walter and Deanna Miszczenko for the dedicated and tender care Elisabeth received in their home and all the doctors and nurses at St. Luke’s Hospital in Boise who made her passing a gentle and peaceful experience.
