Sandra Jean Armenta peacefully went with the Angels in spirit into our loving Saviors’ house on the morning of September 3rd, 2016 at her home in Ontario, Oregon. She was 66 years old.
Sandi is survived by her husband Rudy Armenta, her children Gregory, (Shawna) and Michelle. Her grandchildren Karina, Tori and Lexi and greatgrandchildren Malea, Hailey and Kennedy. Her Sisters Karen, Debbie, Connie and Kathy. As well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and others. She is preceded in death by her parents George and Velma Alvey.
Sandi was born in Twin Falls, Idaho on May 5th, 1950 to George and Velma Alvey. She went to school in Twin Falls, Idaho and Kimberly, Idaho. She met Rudy at a wrestling match in Kimberly, Idaho and they soon began dating. While Rudy was serving in the Navy during the Vietnam War she wrote letters to him and were engaged, she anxiously awaited his return. They were married on December 11th, 1967 in Elko, Nevada. During her working years she had a variety of skill sets. From working for Walmart in accounting to paying million dollar bills for the Tropicana hotel and Casino in accounting. However, nothing made her as happy as being a mother. Rudy and Sandi welcomed two children into their lives. These two brought fulfillment and joy into their lives. Her children remember her as being a kind and gentle mom, who encouraged their hearts desire.
In time she was blessed with three granddaughters. The girls will remember Sandi’s patience when teaching them how to make Apricot Jam and almond Roca. Making almond Roca for Brother Ron Rasmussen, would make his eyes double in size which was his favorite from Sandi at Christmas. Her laughter at the mess they would make in the kitchen, between October and December, making every cookie imagined in the world. The joy in her heart just grew as those three granddaughters became women and gave her three great-granddaughters to enjoy and spoil for the last five years of her life. Over the years nothing brought Sandra more joy than being surrounded by her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to enjoy and spoil for the last five years of her life. Over the years nothing brought Sandra more joy than being surrounded by her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Having a baby in her arms brought an unsurpassable joy to her heart.
Another love of hers was spending time with her sisters. Sandra would tell stories of growing up with four sisters. While for most people this would be a headache, she talked about those times with nothing but love in her heart and voice. The connection she had with her sisters ran deep and she could not go a day without speaking to one or all of them. Sandra waited all year for the week she got to spend with them at the Filer Fair.
Sandi, a loving and faithful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. Although we are left behind, Sandi obeyed the Gospel confessing Christ the Lord, and was baptized in the Lord Jesus Christ. We know through her faith, she is with her loving Father waiting. She is now free of the pain and burdens of this world.
Her Funeral is scheduled for September 16th, 2016 at 2:00 pm. There will be a viewing on September 15th at 5-7 pm and the 16th at 11 am to 2 pm. - 2pm.
