Adventurous, determined, protective, kind…ordinary words to describe an extraordinary man. Our son, Brice Wojcik, changed the world with his birth on July 30, 1995. Before we were ready to let his brave spirit go, he left us on August 10, 2016.
Brice truly lived his life. Loving to his mother, Belia, adventurous with his father, Bart, and protective of his cherished twin sisters, Ellie and Alli, Brice’s enthusiasm made all of our lives fuller. At a young age, he shared a passion for motocross with his uncle, Jose. Grandpa Bruce and Brice shared a bond of mutual fascination and respect for firearms. The first grandchild of Grandpa Jose, their special relationship transcended the usual bonds. They became friends, partners, and confidants. His, father, Bart, instilled a love for water sports, frequently boating and surfing on the Snake River. His adored auntie Carmen shared and encouraged his sense of adventure. During family vacations to Mexico, Hawaii, and Greece, Brice’s love of his family was matched only by his pursuit of outdoor challenges. Whether scuba diving, snowboarding, snowmobiling, or running, Brice experienced every moment of life. We will forever miss his energy and ability to complete our lives with his love.
Brice attended Murtaugh schools through eighth grade and then transferred to Kimberly High School. He was a member of the KHS Debate team, a delegate to Boys’ State, and a student advisor to new delegates, challenges that were characteristic of his passion for government and the political process. He advanced to the state tournament in golf, another of his outdoor pursuits. Most importantly, Brice will be remembered as a friend at KHS whose natural love of life pulled in everyone who knew him.
Brice was currently enrolled at CSI, planning to graduate with a degree in agri-economics and animal science, going on to University of Colorado/Boulder to earn his bachelor’s degree in geological sciences. He was also employed at Metal’s Research in Kimberly. He took great pride in the birth of his first calf last year, the start of his career in agriculture.
Brice is survived by his mother, Belia (Shane) Stastny, of Murtaugh, and his father, Bart (Heather) Wojcik, of Kimberly. He is also survived by his twin sisters, Ellie and Allie, grandparents Jose and Carmen Alcala, and his aunt Carmen, all of Murtaugh. His paternal grandparents, Bruce and Beverly Wojcik, survive him in Kimberly. Cousins - Zeke, Josh, Alex and Tucker survive him in Twin Falls, along with his many friends. He was predeceased by his uncle Jose.
Brice’s family is grateful for the gift of Brice, and the life he brought to their travels together. They are extremely proud of his courageous and brave approach to his diagnosis of a rare cancer. The family would like to thank friends and family who loved and supported him and hope that his love for his family will be a source of strength and hope for all. The ordinary word “heroic” seems inadequate to describe this extraordinary man. Our son, Brice Wojcik, changed the world.
