Genevieve Carson Jewsbury was born in Oakley, Id., September 6, 1929, to John and Della Carson. Genevieve ended her time here on August 10, 2016, at her home. Her parents moved to Acequia, Id., then moved to the farm in Rupert, Id. She grew up on the farm with five sisters Marie Halverson, Bessie Unversoght, Bernice Halverson, Nellie Ketterling and Billie Lott. She had two brothers Darwood “Kit” Carson and Francis Carson.
Genevieve attended school in Rupert and graduated in 1948. While in school, she found her soul mate, Nolan Jewsbury. They were married, at the Catholic Church in Rupert, on June 5, 1949. After moving to several locations in Idaho, they settled down in Twin Falls to raise their family. They had one daughter, Deborah (Mike) Nelson, and two sons Frank Jewsbury, Michael Jewsbury.
Mom and dad loved to go dancing at the Elks lodge. They taught dance classes at their home and at the Elks. She was President of the Ladies of Elks in 1994 and was Ladies of Elks of the year in 1995.
Mom was preceded in death by her parents, her son Frank Jewsbury, and all of her siblings. She is survived by her husband Nolan, her daughter Deborah (Mike) Nelson, her son Michael Jewsbury. Grandson Vincent (Mari) Nelson, Granddaughter Mellissa (Brian) Baecht, Great grandchildren Skylar Baecht, Nathan Baecht, Haiden Nelson, Hailee Nelson and Manasha (Arri) Williams. Great Great grandchildren Kaara and Darryn Williams.
