Janice Lee ship, 71, of Twin Falls, Idaho passed away Sunday August 7th at St. Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center in Twin Falls, Idaho, from complications following a stroke and several falls.
Janice was born in Gooding, Idaho on June 15th, 1945 to Willard H Rasmussen and Mary L Rasmussen and was a resident of Magic Valley for 20 + years. She went to a number of schools and graduated from Raymond High School in Raymond Washington in 1963.
Janice enjoyed the outdoors and spent many days with her husband of 31 years at their summer place at Featherville, Idaho. Janice and Harry spent many hours with their friends of the Pioneer Club in helping others and enjoying their friendship. She and Harry helped with many of the Thanksgiving Day dinners for others. She spent many years doing custodial work and was very good at her work. Janice enjoyed reading all of her life.
Janice was predeceased by her beloved husband Harry on Nov 6th, 2006, her father Willard H Rasmussen, mother Mary L Rasmussen and sister Louise M Lyons. She is survived by her son Jac W Shipp (Holley) of Colorado; her sisters Rogna L McDonnell, of Twin Falls, Id and Connie L Bevington of Raymond Wa; and brother Vernon H Rasmussen (Joyce) of Lake Stevens Wa. She is also survived by children of Harry’s family; Kenneth L Shipp of Boise, Id; Donald C Shipp Sr. of Oregon; Melinda A Culvertson of Discovery Bay, Ca. and Pamela M Shipp and Vicki L Roque of Twin Falls, Id. She also had 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Janice will be missed by many.
A memorial reception for friends and family will be held for Janice at the Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd, Twin Falls, ID 83301. The reception will be held on Aug 25th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
