Jane "Shan" Hann Idso

Jane (Shan) Idso passed from this life on July 27, 2016. Born December 1, 1944, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Shan was the second daughter of Bruce G. and Florence Huffman Scott. The family soon relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where Shan attended public schools. She graduated from Highland High School in 1962 and the University of New Mexico in 1966. She held a variety of positions in the social services field and for the past 16 years was employed at the CSI Office on Aging.

While working as a caseworker in Gallup, New Mexico, Shan met and married her one love and husband of 47 years, Jon Idso. Jon and Shan have two daughters, Jill (Chad) Oathout and Rachel (Mike) McAuley, and a granddaughter, Hannah Oathout. Shan loved her granddaughter and enjoyed spending time with her. A favorite memory of both was watching hours and hours of Frosty the Snowman in the middle of July. Shan took great joy in her family and loved being a wife, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother.

Shan rooted for the underdog and advocated for the least of these. She was involved in the By, Through, For Him prison ministry for several years. She enjoyed reading, cross stitch, a good cup of tea, cinnamon suckers, and Andy Griffith reruns. Shan attended Heritage Alliance church, loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and is now joyfully in His presence.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests donations to either the Twin Falls Animal Shelter or Hospice Visions of Twin Falls. A remembrance service will be held at Heritage Alliance Church on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 2:00 P.M.. Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home in Twin Falls is entrusted with arrangements.
