Florence Romans, 82 of Buhl, ID went to be with our Lord on May 26,2016 after a brief illness. Florence was born January 10, 1934 in Buhl, Idaho to Floyd and Hazel Mason. She grew up in Jerome, graduating from Jerome High School in 1952. During the summer months in High School she was employed at the state hospital in Blackfoot, Idaho. After graduation she was employed by the J L Snowden Heating Company.
She married Ernest Romans on November 16, 1952. Shortly after their marriage, Ernie was employed as a full-time cowboy. During this time, Florence worked beside him, running cattle to and from the hills, working in the fields plowing, planting and moving sprinkler pipes. Every fall for many years, she worked on a potato harvester to finance their annual hunting trips. In later years, after the boys were grown and left home, Florence started working outside the home. She worked at Magic Valley Memorial Hospital in environmental services for 18 years, retiring in 1999.
Florence loved animals, especially cats. She enjoyed riding horses, camping, hunting and working cows. Many times she had to rescue calves, bringing them to the porch or the bath tub during the frigid winters, bottle feeding them to help them survive. She would become attached to them after raising them and would be heartbroken when they would be sold. Her entire life she was a crossword puzzle master, doing all crosswords in pen. She even made her own crossword puzzles, and word searches. Florence loved playing board games and card games especially Pinochle.
Florence is survived by her 4 sons; Dan & Becky of Nevada, Randy & Pam, Alvin, and Todd &Janie all of Idaho. Her grandchildren; Robert Campbell, Dustin (Kathy) Campbell, Sarah (Tom) DeFur, Daniel Alex Romans, Matt (Tasha) Romans, Destiny Romans, Dakotah (Rob) Huse and Derrick Romans. Her great grandchildren; Ben and Macy Campbell, Ellie Romans, Noah and Lucas DeFur, Isaac, Ethan and Emma Romans, Zayden and Saraya Romans and Dekklin Huse. She is also survived by her sisters Macy Terry and Virgie Dobbins, and many nieces and nephews.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ernie, her sister Angie and her great-granddaughter Alyson Rose DeFur.
Florence was a delight to be around. She will be remembered for her smile and love of people. She never met a stranger.
John 11:25-26
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
