Freda Alberta Travis

 Freda Alberta Travis, age 80, of Twin Falls, Idaho passed away Wednesday May 25, 2016. Freda was preceded in death by her beloved son, Marvin Fryer, parents, Fred and Francis Brown, her brother, Leroy Brown, Sister, Carmelita Graham (Brown). She is survived by her son, Mark Potmesil, daughter Kathy Spohn (Travis), daughter, Becky Novak (Travis), six grand-children, and six great grand-children.  Freda loved her family very much and delighted in her relationships with them.

Having been a lifelong resident of the Magic Valley, Freda enjoyed numerous friendships over her lifetime, too numerous to name. She had dear friendships with David  Jerry  and Della Wilding, Peter and Marie Ericson, and Ted and Sharon Hensley. Freda especially enjoyed spending time with her best friend, Sandra Thaete.
Hobbies were a very important part of Freda s life, these included knitting, crocheting, sewing, and numerous other crafts. Many projects she completed were made as gifts for friends and family. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Twin Falls before joining a deaf fellowship at First Baptist Church in Burley with Kathryn Montoya and her family.

We would like to especially thank Dr. Waters, Freda s primary physician, for his patient understanding and attentiveness to ensure Freda s health and wellbeing.

Freda and her family have appreciated the support many of our local community ASL interpreters. We thank them for their dedication and commitment to the local deaf community. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Freda s name to the Idaho Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf at idahorid.org

In order to allow time for friends and family to travel and joining us in remembering Freda, the memorial service will be held at Parke s Magic Valley Funeral Home. There will be a celebration after the memorial at 1411 Falls Ave E. Suite 703 Twin Falls, please bring your favorite dish to share.
