Betty Jean Browne, age 83, of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away at home
surrounded by her family on May 19, 2016 after a brief struggle with
leukemia.
Surviving are: a son, Steven Jensen Browne (Christine) of Meridian and
three daughters, Pamela Rae DeWitte (Rod), Janice Sue Browne (Eric) and
Debra Jean Hunt (Tim) all of Twin Falls, 11 grandchildren, 16 great
grandchildren with one on its way; 2 sisters, Dora May of Twin Falls and
Anna Marie Phillips of Sedro Woolley, Washington as well as several nieces
and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Deane
Browne, 2 sisters; Evelyn Tingley and Rose Mary Goodman, as well as her
parents Christian and Dora Jensen.
Betty was born in Twin Falls, Idaho on August 4, 1932 to Christian and
Dora Jensen. She grew up in Oakley, Idaho later moving to Twin Falls,
Idaho where she graduated from Twin Falls High School.
Betty met her future husband, Roy Browne, while attending Twin Falls High
School. Although she was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-
Saints, they were married in the Twin Falls Methodist Church on April 22,
1951. They spent most of there lives together living in Twin Falls with the
exception of a few years in Redondo Beach, California.
Betty started her working career at the Fidelity National Bank in Twin Falls.
She worked her way through multiple bank mergers and conversions
working her way into upper management. She eventually retired from US
Bank in 1995. Betty enjoyed gardening, nurturing her plants into a full array
of beautiful colors which brought her much pleasure. Anyone who knew
Betty knew her love for reading. It seemed as if anyone writing a book
would become her favorite author. She truly loved the outdoors and going
for long country drives visiting her favorite places in the hills just south of
Twin Falls. Family gatherings that involved cooking outdoors, watching her
children interact with her grand and great grandchildren brought to her an
endearing look of peace and happiness. She was a grateful, loving, caring
mother. She was a beautiful, kind hearted and delightfully pleasant treasure
of love. She is our mother forever.
