R.D. McKinney

Reuben Delbert McKinney (R.D.) 96 passed away April 21, 2016 at Country Living Retirement Home.

R.D. was born Sept. 25th 1919 to Lemuel and Stella McKinney in Hansen ID. He met his partner for life Wanda Haskins in 1938. They were married Sept. 23rd, in Twin Falls ID. They lived in Gooding, Kimberly and Twin Falls. After the loss of infant Daughter – Judith, R.D. and Wanda adopted Larayne and later on adopted Diane.

After being a Flight Instructor on the B25 Mitchell Bomber for the United States Air Force in WW2, he taught flying lessons at the Gooding Airport. He maintained his flying license for a number of years going up whenever he could.

R.D. worked at Twin Falls Bank & Trust Co. from 1950 to 1978 where he was a Loan Officer and Branch Manager for the office in Kimberly. Managed Idaho Bank & Trust from 1978 to 1980. He then joined Farmers National Bank in 1981 and retired in 1987. He was also a Farm Loan Analyst with Farmers Home Administration.

He was active in the First Christian Church in Kimberly and Twin Falls where he served as a Deacon for a number of years. He was a member of Twin Falls Elks, Shriners, Masonic Lodge, Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club, Lion's Club, Boy Scouts and the American Veterans.

R.D. is survived by Daughters Larayne McKinney and Diane (Doug) Welch, numerous Nieces and Nephews and Grandchildren Heather (Emmett) and Matthew and Great Grandchildren Hannah, JayCee and Jordyn.

He was preceded in death by his wife Wanda, infant Daughter Judith, Granddaughters Katie Jo and Kristi Jean. Brothers Corwin, Robert and Ken McKinney. Sisters Thelma Mills, Maxine Harmmison, Lois Batton, Helen Denbo and Geraldine McKinney.

Visitation will be May 1, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be May 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home of Twin Falls. Burial will follow at the Twin Falls Cemetery.
