Harvey Franklin Lampe, 83, of Twin Falls passed away in his sleep April 23, 2016. He was born October 15, 1932 at home near Tribune Kansas. The son of Alfred and Elsie (Sides) Lampe, he received his early education at a country school in Greeley County Kansas.
In 1942 after the death of his mother, Harvey’s father moved with his 5 children, Berlin, Elmer, Harvey, Phyllis, and Alfred Jr. to Filer Idaho to be near family. Harvey attended high school in Portland Oregon, graduating in 1951. He entered the army in 1953 and was stationed in Fort Bliss TX and Fort Ord CA., where he worked as a line construction supervisor and a jeep driver. After leaving the army in 1955, he worked a surveyor for the Bureau of Public Roads for a year. He then moved back to Twin Falls where he farmed the property where the College of Southern Idaho now sits. In 1965 he purchased a farm south of Twin Falls where he grew alfalfa ,corn, beans and beets; there were dairy cows, pigs, horses and 5 kids as well, Vicki, Dennis, Brent, Jana, and Tim were all raised and worked on this farm.
In February, 1985 Harvey married Maureen (Klaas) Brown, continued to farm and later sold farms and ranch property with Robert Jones Realty until his retirement in 2012.
Harvey is survived by his 5 children, Sister Phyllis, and brother Elmer Lampe, 8 grandsons, 4 step grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 step great grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Elsie Lampe and step mother Sophie Lampe, and 2 brothers Berlin and Alfred Jr. Lampe

A viewing will be held Wednesday April 27, 6 - 8 pm at Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd in Twin Falls. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 28, at 1 p m at Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home in Twin Falls. Private inurnment will follow at a later date.
