John Militich, 96, of Twin Falls, passed away March 30, 2016 at the Twin Falls Care Center in Twin Falls. He was born on January 29, 1920 in Wallington, New Jersey, the son of Simo and Clemantine Miletich.
John Joined the US Army on Feb 5, 1940 and served in the US Infantry during WWII and Korea. While serving in Korea John received a Field Commission to Captain. He received many honors during his years serving our country. Among them were the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, American Defense Service Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Korean Service Medal with five Bronze Service Stars and a Silver Star just to name a few. John was an expert marksman with rifle, Auto Rifle and Machine Gun and competed on the Presidents Rife Team at Camp Perry. He was a dedicated service man always proud to have served our country.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister. Surviving are his Nephews - Michael Shoffner and John Shoffner and a Niece Susie Hundermark, along with a host of friends and fellow servicemen. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
