Violet Iris Becker

1922 ~ 2016

Violet Iris Becker, age 94, of Twin Falls, became a heavenly angel and flew into God’s loving arms on March 21, 2016 from congestive heart failure. 

Violet was the second daughter born in Devil’s Lake, North Dakota on January 26, 1922 to Lewis Glenn and Jewell Fyke Hamilton. She later moved with her parents and three sisters, Jessie, Dorothy and Betty to Minneapolis, Minnesota.  After her father died in January 1938 from pneumonia, her mother moved with the four girls to be closer to family in Twin Falls, Idaho the same year. 

Violet met her husband Don Kriegh from Buhl, Idaho and they were married on December 7, 1941. Two children were born to this marriage. Patricia (Dave) Butikofer of Pocatello and Robert L Kriegh. Don passed away September 18, 1949 from a car – train accident while pheasant hunting with two other friends.  

Violet then met and married Lawrence Kuykendall on July 14, 1951 and they added two more daughters to the family, Judy (Dave) Sommer of Twin Falls and Penny (Mike) Miller of Mountain Home. They were later divorced and Violet married Albert Becker and remained married until his death on January 17, 1982. 

Violet love to sew, garden, cook, crochet and put puzzles together. She was a member of the Valley Christian Church and had volunteered over 1000 hours as a “Pink Lady” at Magic Valley Memorial Hospital.  

Violet was predeceased by her son Robert in 2000, sisters, Dorothy Early in 1993 and Betty Sept in 2009 and Lawrence in 2009. She is survived by her sister Jesse Lingnaw of Twin Falls, 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

Memorial services for Violet will be held June 11, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Rd., Twin Falls, ID.
