Joe Stastny

Joe Stastny, 96, born December 28, 1919, son of Joseph and Sophia STASTNY died February, 9, 2016.

Joe was a graduate of Murtaugh high school, spent much of his adult life farming in Murtaugh. He said driving tanker trucks was a secondary job, but he enjoyed it so much it was almost a hobby.  He retired to twin falls Idaho and Palm Springs where he continued to enjoy bridge, friends and family.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Ida STASTNY, their daughter Patricia. He was also preceded in death by his second wife, Helen Benson.   He leaves daughters Karen Neilson Zivin and Debra STASTNY. He was very proud of his 5 grandchildren; Paul Neilson, Brian Neilson, Matthew Paley, Joe Paley and Laura Paley. His 5 great-grandchildren were also a source of great joy. 

Joe will be remembered for his love of his family, his many friends, his love of a party (particularly if cards were involved) and his never ending kindness and care for others.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd. in Twin Falls.   Graveside services will be held on Monday, February 15, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at the Sunset Memorial Park.
