Capitola Lenora Larsen
Buhl – Capitola (Cappy) Larsen, age 99, passed away Monday, February 1, 2016 at River Rock Assisted Living in Buhl. She passed away quietly in the night to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Cappy was born August 25, 1916, in Kimberly, Idaho to Lloyd Taylor and Lillie Belle Brown. She was the oldest of 3 children.
Cappy attended the Pleasant Valley School, and graduated from Kimberly High School. She received a teaching degree from Albion Normal School. She taught school in Oakley, and Ketchum. She also taught study hall at Kimberly. She worked at Kellwood.
Cappy married her childhood sweetheart Lars Kenneth Larsen on December 24, 1942, in the Methodist Church. They had two children Linda and Doug.
They settled in a place south of Hansen, Idaho where they farmed and ran cattle in the South Hills for years until Kenneth passed away in November 1963.
She later moved to Pleasant Valley, south of Kimberly, on the family farm, where her brother Birchie Brown lived. In 2002 she moved to Clover to be closer to her son Doug Larsen.
In 2014 she moved to River Rock Assisted Living in Buhl where her sister Blanche was living.
She enjoyed traveling in the Western United States to Cattlemen’s Association meetings when Kenneth was alive. She belonged to Pleasant Valley Grange and life time member of Pleasant Valley Willing Worker Club. She enjoyed doing all kinds of crafts. She loved her family very much.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kenneth, brother Birchie Brown and sister Blanche Johnson.
Cappy is survived by her daughter, Linda (David) Dombeck of Nampa and her son Doug (Joyce) of Buhl, Idaho. She had 7 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.
She was a member of the Clover Trinity Lutheran Church of Buhl. She lived by herself till she was 98 and always eager to go somewhere.
A celebration of her life will be held at Clover Trinity Lutheran Church on Friday, February 5, 2016, at 11 A.M. with internment following at Sunset Memorial Park, Twin Falls. A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2016, from 5 to 7 P.M. at Parks Funeral Home. Memorial gifts may be given to the Clover Trinity Lutheran Church.
The family would like to give a very special “Thank You” to Riverrock staff for all their loving care. We appreciate all the time and love you gave to her.
