Budd" Phillips Jr. (76 ) of Twin Falls, passed away at his home in Twin Falls January 16, 2016.Budd was born Frederick Lawrence Phillips Jr. on Nov. 10, 1939 to Bonnie and Lawrence in Vancouver, Washington. A couple of years later, came his little brother Ron. After moving to Pasco, Washington 2 more brothers Donald and Daniel joined the family.Eventually they moved to The Dalles, Oregon where the summer of his sophomore year he met Janice at the county fair.He joined the National Guard while attending high school and after high school he enlisted in the Navy as an airman apprentice.After working in Thermopolis WY as a radio station DJ. He moved back to Kennewick where he and Janice married. By 1965, they had a family of their own with Darvin and Maria.Downtown Kennewick, he owned an Enco service station which became the perfect place to work on his race car. He earned 2 rollover trophies on the local dirt track.By 1970 he had earned his first class radio license. This license gave him the opportunity to move to Twin Falls where he started work for KEEP Radio.He became active in the Jaycees where he worked on many community projects for the area, and became close friends with so many people. He met Jim Mildon, who encouraged him to become a Twin Falls City Policeman. He served the city for 7 years.Model trains were a part of his life from early on. Eventually that lead Budd and Dennis Vollmer to become partners to open a business to support their favorite hobbies: Hobby Town Toys. This store was soon a local favorite for trains, planes, radio controlled cars, and it even had a slot car race track.
After closing the store, Budd worked for DM Mallory which had him travelling four states for many years. To stop traveling, so much he went to work for Price Hardware.
After retiring from Price Hardware, Budd worked with Mike Parke where he would occasionally chauffeur celebrities from the airport to Sun Valley.Some activities he enjoyed in the community were races at the Magic Valley Speedway; Lighthouse football games, Car Shows with their 65 Mustang, Snooker with his buddies, and weekly Bible studies.Having all of his family together any time it was possible, was always of very high importance to Budd. Grandchildren and even great grandchildren became a highlight of his life. He always had a story to share about them. He has left a strong legacy through each them.He is survived by his wife Janice of over 52 years. Son: Darvin (Janet) Ogden, UT

A Celebration of Budd's life will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 11 am at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, Idaho.
