? Thelma Perrett Smith Obituary Thelma Perrett Smith, 98, of Twin Falls, ID passed away Sunday, December 20, 2015 in Boise, Idaho at her daughter Jana’s home. Thelma was born December 15, 1917 in Paris, Idaho to Henry Charles and Eliza Primrose Lee Perrett. She spent her early years there and in 1929 the family moved to Lincoln, Idaho where she resided until she graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1936. After High School she attended Rick’s College, in Rexburg and received her teaching degree in 1938. She then taught 4th,5th,6th grade in Elba, ID. While there she met Jack Smith from Malta. They were married in the Salt Lake City LDS temple February 21, 1940. They lived briefly in Moscow, ID; Puyallup, WA Preston, Caldwell and Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and settled in Twin Falls in 1946. Together they raised a wonderful family of 10 children. Following the death of her husband, Jack, in 2005, she moved to Boise, ID. There she was lovingly cared for by her daughter Jana (Cal) Lindsay until the time of her death. Thelma was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She devoted many years doing family history, beginning at age 12 and continuing until age 90 when her eyesight prohibited her from working on the computer. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting and crossword puzzles. Thelma was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Young Women, Relief Society and many music positions. Thelma and Jack Served as Ordinance Workers in the Boise, ID temple for 8 years. Surviving Thelma are her children, Ronald (Elaine) Smith of Keller TX; Clyde (Carolyn) Smith of Herriman, UT, Grant ( Lesley) Smith of Portage, UT; Rosellyn (Lyle) Larson of Morrison, CO; Linda (Barney) Cornaby of Knoxville, TN; Jackie (Richard) Sorenson of Highland, UT; Rock (Pat) Smith, Twin Falls, ID; Krista Loosli of Caldwell, ID; Marla (Gordon) Polatis, of Blackfoot, ID; and Jana (Cal) Lindsay of Boise, ID. Also surviving are 53 grandchildren, 115 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren. Thelma was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Jack, her sister, parents and three grandchildren; David Eric Larsen, Jo Anna Smith, and John Daren Smith. Funeral Services for Thelma will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 29 at the LDS Church, 15th Ward, 847 Eastland Dr. North. Visitation will be held from 11:00 to 11:45 Tuesday prior to the funeral. Interment will follow the service at the Malta Cemetery, in Malta, ID.
