Loren Herbert Gurnea, 99, of Buhl, passed away December 8, 2015 at the River Rock Assisted Living Center in Buhl. He was born December 24, 1915 in Buhl, Idaho the Son of Arthur and Christina Grohman Gurnea.
He attended school in Buhl and then went on to serve in the US Army, where he served in the South Pacific Theater Campaign. Upon his return from the service he began in career in farming. In 1980 he married Ollie Brinkman, with this union came a family of two. Loren enjoyed gardening and caring for his flowers, cooking and baking bread. He and Ollie enjoyed walking together in the Magic Valley Mall. They treasured those special moments together.
Surviving are his daughter Doris Brinkman of Buhl, along with grandchildren – Rob (Angie) Brinkman of Irvine, CA, Jimmy (Kathi) Lyon of Buhl, Derrik (Amy) Brinkman of Buhl, Julie Lyon of Buhl, Kristen (Lincoln) Assendrup of Boise, Lori (Eddie) Sherman of Buhl, , in addition to great grandchildren, Amanda (Justin) Duffy of Buhl, Madison Brinkman of Buhl, McKenna Brinkman of Buhl, Hannah Henson of Buhl, Ryan Brinkman of Irvine, CA, Chevy Sherman of Buhl, Emma Henson of Buhl, Kimberly Sherman of Buhl, Lily Brinkman of Irvine, CA, Sam Assendrup of Boise, Jake Assendrup of Boise, Lilly Sherman of Buhl, and one great great grand child - Declan Duffy of Buhl. He ws preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ollie, son Robert Brinkman, brother – Bud and Chuck Gurnea and granddaughter Cindra Brinkman Henson. He will deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the West End Cemetery in Buhl. Military Honors will be offered by the Magic Valley Honor Guard.
