Darwin Max Nielson

Darwin Nielson 1927 ~ 2015 Darwin Nielson, age 88 of Twin Falls passed away November 7, 2015 after a long illness. Darwin was born in Parker, Idaho, September 18, 1927 to Albert and Mildred Nielson. They later moved to Twin Falls where Darwin graduated. He then joined the United States Marine Corps and searched two years in Hawaii as an Airborne Radio operator. Darwin met his soon-to-be wife Leila when they both worked at Sears. They married November 5, 1951 in Twin Falls. When not working, Darwin loved being outside in nature, camping, hiking, fishing, and backpacking. He loved rock hunting and later in life turned his passion into jewelry making and faceting. Surviving Darwin is his loving wife of 64 years, Leila, son Curt (Cindy) Nielson, daughter, Diane (Dan) Schiffler, daughter Denise Burch, son Scott Nielson, granddaughter Sarah ( Joe) Depew, grandson Dustin (Leah) Schiffler, and grandkids Rex, Roxanne, Rio and Taige. Darwin was preceded in death by his parents, numerous brothers and sisters and his beloved grandson, Jason Burch. A private family Memorial will be held at a later date in the mountains he loved so much. All services and arrangements are under the direction of Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home of Twin Falls, Idaho.
