Betty Geraldine "Gerri" Madland, 87, of Twin Falls, passed away Friday, November 6, 2015, at home totally surrounded by family, from too many birthdays. Gerri was born on May 6, 1928, in Lusk, Wyoming, to her beloved parents, Benjamin John Hampton and Winnie Dell Hampton. She was blessed with seven brothers and sisters: Margaret Reed, Wade Hampton, Orin Hampton, Watts Hampton, Cecil VanZante, Ardith Berney and Lueanne Hopwood. She graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1946. In 1948 she married Ken Barth. To this union were born three children - Christopher (Becky) Barth, Connie Bell and Terry Barth. She and Ken later divorced. On October 4, 1975, she married the love of her life, Richard William "Bill" Madland. She was then blessed with three stepchildren - Kathy (Bob) Wright, Mike (Lisa) Madland, and Pat (Bobbie) Madland. Bill and Gerri then proceeded to have a good life together. Gerri was a great secretary, working at banks and finally with Bill at Jellison-Madland Memorials. They traveled quite often, enjoying camping, seeing sites, fishing and they especially enjoyed dancing together. Bill preceded her in death in 2003. Surviving are her children - Chris, Connie, Kathy, Mike, Pat, grand children - Heather, Kayla, B. Jason, Jessica, Letia, Robert, Alex, Sydney, Colin, Atticus and Melozie, along with seven great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Friends may call on Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 5 - 7 P.M. at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd.
