Raymond Cleo Spreier

February 13, 1934 — October 27, 2015

Raymond Cleo Spreier 1934 ~ 2015 Raymond Cleo Spreier, 81 of Twin Falls went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 27, 2015 from his home in Twin Falls, Idaho with his loving family by his side. Ray was born February 13, 1934 in Burley, Idaho to David and Pauline (Weimer) Spreier. He grew up and attended high school at Buhl and Burley, graduating from Burley High School in 1952. After graduation, Ray went to work for M.H. King of Kings Variety Stores and was the manager of the Twin Falls Store for 10 years. On April 26, 1959, Ray married the love of his life, Dianna (Jensen) Spreier and they had three sons, Kevin, Phillip and Michael. After a year in Twin Falls, Kings transferred Ray to Preston where they lived for four years. Ray then took a position with Western Auto as a Wholesale Sales Manager. He worked for them until he retired in 2001, living in Arizona, California and Oregon. His job required a large amount of driving throughout most of the western United States and Alaska, which he loved. He seemed to know every small town west of the Mississippi and could tell you how to get there! Ray proudly served his country in the Army National Guard for 10 years. During a training mission, Ray and his brother Cliff staged a prank that included dummy machine gun fire from the ground and bombing the troops from the air with flour sacks. He was an active member of the Jaycees. Ray enjoyed catching fish for their fundraisers. When he wasn't working, Ray loved to spend time with his family. Traveling was his passion and he also enjoyed fishing, bowling, and when there was time, a good game of golf. Travel destinations included Israel, Egypt, India, China, Europe, Mexico, Panama Canal, Bermuda, St. Martin, Bahamas, Finland, Scandinavia, Russia, Singapore, Thailand, Hawaii, Alaska and Area 51. Ray was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving Ray is his loving wife of 56 years, Dianna of Twin Falls; sons, Kevin Spreier of Grand Rapids, MI; Phillip (Brenda) Spreier of Bend, OR; and Michael (Cheryl) Spreier of Pasadena, CA; Brother, David (Evelyn)Spreier of Paul, ID and 12 grandchildren, 6 boys and 6 girls. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John and Clifford Spreier and by his sister, Rose Mauldin. The family deeply thanks the staff and administration of St. Luke's Hospice for the compassionate support and care that they gave Ray these past couple of months.
